gypsy began training today with saxy. taz won't be a part of the training for awhile - the trainer wants to get her settled in with saxy and get some of her training down first. the trainer saw the little bit we've been doing since we first got her a couple of weeks ago. lady d (the trainer) says gypsy's had some previous training that's also showing through.
saxy has stuff to work on the next week. commands like wait and follow through. and we need to start socializing gypsy. when the trainer's dog came in the house, gypsy growled. she just wanted to make sure that other dog knew that this is her home and her family. lol
next meeting for training is next friday. then saxy and gypsy get to go to classroom situation with other dogs who are further along in their training.
oh, and the trainer is also getting us a vest for gypsy. we'll have to pay for it, yes, but at least we'll have the service dog vest. so, all in all, things are going well. :)

i have been looking for assistance dog info all day, stuff to give the doctors so we can get the recommendation letters. one thing i can't seem to find: the laws that define what an assistance dog is and includes emotional support as a part of the definition. this is frustrating. but since the doctors don;t have a clue, i'm doing what i can to help them with their research of the subject.
as for gypsy and taz, they seem to be doing well. she's starting to stay the night in his room with him and he's starting to accept it as a given.
we've got to get the recommendation letters. i think losing her would be absolutely devastating to him.

Addendum to my last: Taz, for some reason, got it in his head that he was going to see some movie that almost certainly would've made Domynoe's 'No!' list. I admit, sometimes I do goof, but for the most part I comply with Domy's wishes on this matter. Well, Taz started going on with something like 'Celebrate! Celebrate!'. Celebrate what? And who the hell has been teaching him lyrics to Kool and the Gang songs?? Well, yeah, it could be Three Dog Night; in that case, he's kool...er...cool!
