we've decided to keep the dog. she's a wonderful, 2 year old australian shepherd, very friendly, and already settling in. very smart. she already knows her name and is learning the commands she needs rather quickly. and she's also bonding where she sould. taz missed his bus tuesday and she followed him all over the place and sat with him to watch tv. when taz isn't around, she usually sits with or lays near saxy (who is the only one giving her treats for the training). if he's in bed, she stays with me.
and taz just LOVES having his own dog! he's been excited about it and can't wait for her to join him at school. that's months away, of course, since she has to get trained enough to be around a bunch of kids and stay focused on her job.
we're working on getting the paperwork pulled together so the housing people don't boot her or us. once we have all that stuff turned in, i'll be much more relieved.
OH! and she already helps with the spinning. when they sit together, he's almost always touching her so not spinning toys or fingers or hands. this is a good thing. :)

we're keeping taz home tomorrow to go look at a dog. the trainer wants to see how the dog interacts with him. if it clicks with him, we just may be bringing the dog home. :)
