apparently the people at the nursing care facility keep wanting to change taz's respite care worker. she comes in every saturday and spends time with him, often taking him to the movies and out to lunch. he's become quite attached to her and thursday or friday we start hearing "belinda is coming."
fortunately, she's aware of the rigid, scheduled nature of autistics and keeps fighting against being moved to another case. so far she's prevailed, thank goodness. when she first started, it was very hard for her to engagge taz at all. he'd had so many others come in and not come back, i think he just didn't see the point in getting to know anyone new.
if they try to transfer her off, i am going to have to add my two cents to the mess. he really does need consistency.

it's been awhile since we updated. everyone has been so busy! taz's o.t. is almost over and we're apply to css to get help with future o.t. and getting the items the therapist wants him to have. taz has sensory integration problems, pretty much across the board. not unusual for autistics from what i understand. his weight is too low too and the therapist wants him eating soy products and stuff with a higher fat content than we eat in this house. essentially, i have to buy for 2 menus, something i can't afford to do. he's got anopther new irc case worker who sounds like she may be around awhile. and, finally, his respite care worker is working out. he looks forward to belinda every weekend. :) things are going good for him.
