The big, scary surgery is over and done with; Kristav came through like a trooper. Domynoe and I brought him to the hospital at 6:30AM. I signed him in, then we took him upstairs to Same Day Surgery (actually, they call it Same Day Service). They got his clothes off, and put him in one of those pediatric hospital gowns. Then they gave him an oral sedative (not sure which one) to calm him down. I'd say it did. The anesthesiologist and two OR nurses picked him up. He was back in recovery in about 30 minutes. There was some blood on his right ear; I understand that they scratched him there. Is that grounds for malpractice? LOL He was very cranky for a bit, which is a typical reaction for someone coming off of Versed (the anesthesia used). But he soon returned to his usual cheerful self...even high-fived the nurse! We took him home, and I bought him breakfast from McDonald's (not exactly Domynoe's favorite fast food, but the kids like it; then again, the kids love yogurt, and I can't stand the stuff). Soon, he was stuffing his face, and watching 'Star Trek'. Whatcha doin', Kristav? Just chillin'. And of course, he's back on his medicine.

well kristav's surgery is tomorrow, and we decided to keep him home this week. seeing as though it breaks his routine when he doesn't go to school, we have to keep him occupied. after breakfast i thought i would let him watch dinosaur, thinking that after the movie he would want to play "cargame" (hot wheels on the playstation). well his dad came by and that kind of threw him for another loop, so i put in tarzan for him. honestly i wasn't planning on him watching movies all day. well after tarzan i sat him down for lunch, and stated to him that he didn't want to watch anymore movies and he said, "Yessss!!!, and i want to watch the one that starts with S." so i asked if he meant star trek and he replied yes, then said no i want to watch star wars....i was a little suprised, but i put it in for him anyway....then of course after that he wanted to watch star trek....when that one was over he was working his way into another video, but 4 was enough for one day.

I just got off the phone with the hospital. They want Kristav there at 6:30 AM. In a way, this is a good thing. He can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight tonight, so getting him in early means getting him out early. The whole procedure takes only 20-30 minutes, then he'll be in post-op for about an hour. After that, lunch!
