kristav off medication, beginning today (although it should have been tomorrow, saxy forgot what day he was to be off), isn't as bad as it has been in the past - so far. he is out of control, his body movements are much wilder, he was up late again (it's been awhile since he's been up past midnight with the new med he tales on top of the ritalin), and he's becoming "violent" again (he hits and kicks when interferred with when off medication). he also is back to crying when things get out of hand. today he broke a plate when he lost control of himself and was flailing wildly. we understand that he doesn't do most of this "ob purpose" or with any forethought, but this operation can't be over too soon.

Domynoe and I took Kristav to his pre-op appointment this morning; he is to have tubes placed in his ears on June 5th. The surgeon showed us what the tubes look like, and discussed the risks of general anesthesia (at Kristav's age, VERY minimal). He will be totally off his medications for two days prior, per Dr Leong's instructions. After midnite on Monday, he is to have nothing--NOTHING--to eat or drink; if he had something in his stomach when coming out of anesthesia, he could vomit and possibly aspirate it into his lungs. Then none of us would be happy campers. The whole procedure is very short--15 or 20 minutes. Domy will probably keep him home from school for the remainder of the week, just to make sure everything's all right.

5.29.2001
Today Kristav and I had so much fun. Kristav loves it when Jhenna and I do that rasberry thing on his stomach. We also tickled him and played fly (where you put your feet on the perso's stomach while the person is holding on and lift the person in the air). Then we sang to the songs on Radio Disney (well actually Kristav sang, Jhenna and I danced) including the new N'SYNC song Pop.
