a dialogue between kristav and i the other day:
kristav: wan on couch.
me: you want to sit on the couch?
kristav: yes
me: ok, sit on the corner there.
kristav: on the corner?
me: yes
after taping his and his younger sister's speech patterns for a language paper, i am discovering that we do a lot more clarifying than i thought we did with him. and i am discovering more about his sound patterns. i'll have to share them sometime when i have more time.

kristav playing at the playstation (hot wheels): leaning into the turns and yelling "go go go". sometimes he shows surprising insight. no one taught him that, he just does it.

we got a pleasant surprise this week. kristav tends to be a very finiky eater. i mean we can actually list what he will eat. while the list may seem long to some people, when you consider eating just what he eats through the month, not only do you cut out A LOT of good food, but it would get old REALLY fast. dinner time with my son is usual somewhat of a trial, with us trying to get him to eat and him flatly refusing with an "i don't want it". and, generally, we can't even get him to taste new foods. and we can't fake him out either: hamburger helper mac & cheese is NOT mac & cheese and he won't eat it. so imagine our surprise when we had lasagna for the first time in a long while (i mean like years here), and HE ATE IT! not only that, he WANTED MORE. yes, the littlest things are a reason to celebrate when it comes to my son.
