the holidays are over! yay! and miracle of all miracles, kristav isn't stuck in christmas mode. he does know what presents were given to HIM specifically, such as a ps racing game and a remote controlled car, and asks to play those almost daily. but we're not getting the constant chatter of christmas talk. considering all the talk during his vacation, this is a GOOD thing. it may help that we took the tree down early too.
he went back to school this week as weel. so far no major reactions to the change in school, at least not the usual tantrums and such. in fact, amazingly enough, he comes off the bus cheerful and, once in the door, calls out, "i'm hoooooooooooome!" all excited and happy like. this is a wonderful cahnge the the tantrums and tears from prior to the break. he'll even go up and change his clothes and take off his shoes and sock with a minimum fuss. sometimes he seems to get lost up in his room spinning away, but he usually comes down easily enough if we tell him it is snack time.
however, it may be time to reconsider snack time. his appetite is down again, to the point that he's not eating fave foods sometimes. left over pizza used to be unheard of, and now he may eat one slice. i am a bit worried about his eating. and he's been up late nights again, a habit i hope changes real soon. if he's up, i'm up til he sleeps, and on school nights that could get rough. we've tried all the standard stuff (ignoring, taking the toys away, telling him to go night night when he's too loud, etc), but nothing has worked so far. i hope it's just the change in routine. if this is all he's going to do, that's livable.
thursday he sees a metabolics specialist from children's hospital in l.a. they come up to our area once ever month or so, so we have no choice in appointment times.
