Loving & living with a special needs child

i have to try to figure out what changes the new medication has caused in my son. this is actually harder than it sounds for a couple of reasons. 1. i think at this point the changes are rather subtle. 2. i was REALLY sick when he started and by the time i came up for air he'd been on them awhile (and really stressed out the weeks before i got sick). 3. other issues in my life are doing a wonderful job of distracting me. sounds like a horrible mother i am sure, but i figure this is also pretty normal for the kind of transitional period we're all in. in some ways it's just too much for me to take in. people say he is calmer...and i would have to agree he is somewhat calmer. he still eats, maybe not as much, but at least he isn't pushing his faves completely away. he IS sleeping...about usual time or a little earlier. but he is exibiting crankiness..irritability. how much of this is medication and how much is adjustment to routine i can't say. so judging the effects of the medication is proving to be pretty hard right now.

man...sorry this one has been so long. other than me being sick, there has been no HUGE news in kristav's life until recently. we are trying him on another medication..but i have been so sick that any differences are...well..beyond me. most people have said he is calmer. this medication seems to be affecting his appetite a bit, but not as much as the other, and at least he sleeps at night. we may up the dose next week. one other small thing of note. he still doesn't ask about chwis. but when my new fella comes over, he's usually here for a few days. today he stopped by to pick something up..and after he left kristav asked for him. oh...and we have his trennial iep at the end of the month and he no longer has an irc representative...so now i have to remember to call them and find a replacement who knows nothing about my son. sigh...irc apparently has a high turnover too.
